Dr. Lo comes to us from Los Angeles, California. She obtained her bachelor's degree in molecular cell biology at the University of California, Berkeley.  After graduation, she embarked on her path toward medicine by attending Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, where she obtained her MD.  While in medical school, she discovered her passion for surgery, particularly in the regions of the head and neck.  This led her to pursue a residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (ENT) at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX.  In residency, she felt a special affinity for facial plastic surgical procedures, so after graduating, she chose to challenge herself further by pursuing an extra year of training in cosmetic surgery.

The Story of Happy Clinic Indy. A Gift Comes Full Circle.

Happy Clinic Indy actually started 42 years ago in 1972 when Dr. Robert F Jackson MD was a surgeon in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. I was newly born and he remembers well, holding me in his arms all wrapped up in layers of blankets because all Vietnamese mothers were afraid of their babies catching a cold, even in 90 degrees heat. Dr. Robert F Jackson, MD and my Father had become good friends during the war and still remained friends after Dr. Jackson's tour of duty was over. My Father had sent my brother Trung to college in the United States to study and Dr. Jackson "adopted" him as another son. When my family escaped on a boat from war torn Vietnam in 1977, we landed in a refugee camp in Thailand. My Father then sent a telegram to Dr. Jackson saying that we had escaped and were alive and well and if he could tell my brother. Dr. Jackson called my brother at the university to tell him the good news. He drove all night to Dr. Jackson's home so that he could see the telegram in person.

For the next six months, Dr. Robert F Jackson, MD, my brother, and the Upland Evangelical Mennonite Church made the appropriate arrangements to sponsor my family of 12 (my parents and 10 brothers and sisters) to the United States. We settled in a small town in Upland, Indiana, and that was when Dr. Jackson became my second "Dad". I wanted to be like him. My family and I owe him a debt we could never repay. I shadowed Dr. Robert F Jackson, MD during college and Dr. Jackson wrote my recommendation for medical school.

Today, I have the honor of repaying in some small way the debt that my family and I owe him, by helping him start Happy Clinic Indy. I know that my own Father and Mother, who have passed away over 10 years ago, are looking down upon me with pride and joy.
