FAQ at Happy Clinic Indy

SCULPTRA®

What is Indy Sculptra® ?

Sculptra® (made by Valeant, the makers of Dysport and Restylane) is a sterile water suspended poly-L-lactic acid filler that was FDA approved in the United States in 2004. Sculptra® is FDA approved specifically for facial fat loss in the cheeks and is formulated to be injected deeper. My favorite patient for Sculptra is the thin marathon runner, yoga instructor, or body builder that has sunken temples and cheeks. Sculptra® can add "fat" back to those areas and give you a more youthful look, not gaunt emaciated because you work out so much. As the body breaks down Sculptra®, it begins to form collagen in those areas. You can learn more about sculptra® atwww.sculptraaesthetic.com.

How long does Indy Sculptra® last?

Sculptra® has been shown to last for up to 24 months (2 years).  My protocol is 1-2 vials injected every 3-6 weeks for 2-4 times (for a total of 6 vials). This protocol gives patients the best results and generally full correction that will last the 2 years that was seen in the original studies.

Does Indy Sculptra® hurt?

Sculptra® is well tolerated by most patients. Sculptra® is reconstituted with sterile water and lidocaine, so injections tend to be very tolerable for patients.

How will I look post-treatment of Indy Sculptra®?

Most patients actually look good post-treatment. because of the multiple injection sites, it is not uncommon to get a bruise, but because Scluptra® is injected more deeply, these bruises tend also to be more deep and less noticeable. I have known Sculptra® patients going out to dinner the night of their treatment with just a little makeup. Right after treatments, patients look "full" in a very natural way.

Post procedure instructions:

Standard post-procedure instructions are to massage the areas injected for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO FOLLOW!  This greatly reduces/minimizes the risks of the formation of lumps which were seen with older techniques of more concentrated Sculptra® dilution and superficial Sculptra® injections.

What is the cost of Indy Sculptra®?

Happy Clinic Indy charges $600 per  vial of Scultra®. The recommended dose is 1 vial per decade of age. A patient in their 30's would need 3 vials, with one vial injected once every 4-6 weeks for 3 times. Someone in their 60's would require 6 vials - injected 2 vials at a time every 4-6 weeks for 3 times. Maximum results are seen 2 months after the last injection.

Can I do Sculptra® and Botox® at the same visit?

Yes, you can do both at the same visit.

Where is Indy Sculptra® administered?

I administer Sculptra® in the temples, along the cheekbones and jawline, chin, and anywhere I see facial fat loss.

Who will be doing my Indy Sculptra® Injections?

All Indianapolis Sculptra® injections are done by Dr. Robert Jackson, MD or Dr. Chris Lowery, MD at Happy Clinic Indy.  Dr. Jackson has over 30 years experience in performing cosmetic procedures, with thousands of procedures done safely and effectively, while Dr. Lowery has over 6 years experience in performing cosmetic procedures.

Are Indy Sculptra® injections safe?

Sculptra® was approved by the FDA since 2004.  It's specific niche is geared towards those with overall general fat loss in the face. With new recommended dilution rates and post procedural massaging of the areas treated, Sculptra® is a safe and effective alternative to traditional dermal fillers.
